Patan, the eldest of all three Kathmandu Valley towns. It’s the best known for its creative legacy. It is likely one of the world’s earliest Buddhist city. The town is located across the Bagmati River on a plateau. Patan’s other name is Lalitpur. The town is encircled by 4Stupas as Patan’s 4 angles, one at each corner of its cardinal points. These stupas are said to have been constructed by the renowned Ashoka Emperor. This is one of the most beautiful architectural treasures that Patan is very proud of. It is truly filled with the Hindu shrines and Buddhist landmarks with bronze gateways, protective gods, and beautiful sculptures. The popular meeting spot is Patan Durbar Square. There are many old locations, shrines and temples known for their fine sculptures.
The former royal palace complex is the core of Patan’s cultural and cultural lives and contains a museum comprising a variety of bronze sculptures and spiritual items. Three primary courtesies or chowks are located on the plaza, which is called Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk, and Keshav Narayan Chowk. In its middle, the Sundari Chowk has an architectural monument, the King’s Bath Tushahity.
